New Recycling Program - No Additional Cost
- It is not often that a City service can be created
without additional cost. But not this one, the City is proud
to announce that we have begun a Recycling Program. The City
has worked diligently with several sponsors to bring this
program to this point. The program will start on March 5,
2008. The Recycle bins will be located in the Wal-Mart
Parking Lot (grocery side). There will be three containers,
they are beige and well marked for recyclables. Listed below
are items that can be recycled. They should be separated and
placed in the marked container for that item.
-
- Plastic
-Check for # on/near the bottom of
container. Prepare items by rinsing inside.
- #1 (pet or pete) such as plastic soft drink bottles,
water bottles, mouthwash, etc
- #2 (hdpe) such as milk, water, juice, shampoo,
dish/laundry soap bottles.
- #4 (ldpe) such as squeezable bottles, honey, mustard,
BBQ sauce, etc.
- #5 (pp) such as catsup bottles, yogurt containers,
margarine tubs, etc
- #6 (ps) such as compact disc jackets, egg cartons,
aspirin bottles, etc.
- #7 (other plastic) such as three & five gallon water
bottles, juice bottles, etc.
Paper - Newspaper (remove plastic bags, rubber
bands) magazines, office paper, junk mail flyers, brochures
and phone books. .....No cardboard....
Metal cans -Prepare cans for recycling by rinsing
and discarding all lids. Cans accepted are aluminum, and
steel. Such as drink and food cans.
Please do not mix items in the bins, it makes them
unable to be recycled. Please do not put trash
(non-recyclable) in the bins.
REMEMBER TO RECYCLE----ITS GOOD FOR THE
