The Americus Police Department provides law enforcement
services for the city. The
department is one of 85 State Certified Law Enforcement
Agencies in the State of Georgia. To be awarded state
certification, agencies must demonstrate with policy and
written justification that they are complying with critical
standards established by the State of Georgia Police
Certification Program. The police department employs highly
trained sworn officers.
